Remembering Westney 💛
June 13th, 2025

Westney was found by a Good Samaritan, half-buried in a snowbank alone, freezing, and fighting to survive for hours. A month later, he came home to us and never stopped showing us what resilience looked like.

He made our house a home, standing guard with quiet strength and protecting his backyard like it was his own little kingdom. He spent hours sitting in the grass, feeling the wind, watching the birds, and completely present in a way that reminded us to slow down, to look, and to be grateful.

In the end, he left us just as peacefully - beside the people he had chosen as his own, in the backyard he loved, surrounded by the sounds and stillness of the world he cherished.

We’ll always remember him for his strength, his loyalty, and the way he taught us to pay attention to what matters most.

Murphy passed from FATE — Feline Aortic Thromboembolism — a sudden and heartbreaking condition. His family shares his story to raise awareness and help others recognize the signs.

Though his time here was short, the bond he formed was deep and unbreakable. Murphy was more than a pet — he was a best friend, a shadow, a soul companion.

She adored warmth, whether it was laying in the sun, being buried under blankets, or relaxing by the fireplace. Ellie was our first pet and also our two daughters` first dog, making this loss especially difficult for our family. She will be forever missed.

He liked to keep the house safe by alerting everyone when an intruder was near. He knew it was his job to let his brother Miggy know when another dog was in their path on their walks. He enthusiastically danced to each meal, loved licking the yogurt bowl, consoled his mama on long drives and when she had hiccups. He had a curmudgeonly snort that made everyone laugh. He was a treasure and we will always miss him."

Ellie was a true sweetheart, and a deeply loved member of our family. Although we had to say goodbye far too soon, we are so thankful for the years of love and joy she brought into our lives."
