June 13th, 2025 Westney was found by a Good Samaritan, half-buried in a snowbank alone, freezing, and fighting to survive for hours. A month later, he came home to us and never stopped showing us what resilience looked like. He made our house a home, standing guard with quiet strength and protecting his backyard like it was his own little kingdom. He spent hours sitting in the grass, feeling the wind, watching the birds, and completely present in a way that reminded us to slow down, to look, and to be grateful. In the end, he left us just as peacefully – beside the people he had chosen as his own, in the backyard he loved, surrounded by the sounds and stillness of the world he cherished. We’ll always remember him for his strength, his loyalty, and the way he taught us to pay attention to what matters most.
